March was a big month for the Luvva stream; a BIG month indeed. March saw the biggest leap forward in viewership (still admittedly tiny) I’ve had since my return; it also marked my biggest concurrent viewership as well as my longest streaming time. It was very successful, and it got me Affiliate status on the 14th!! HUGE! Continue reading
A few years ago I ran a giveaway called ‘A Game A Day’ in which I gave away (you’ve guessed it) one game a day throughout Advent.
Well this year I thought it would be smashing to return to this giveaway and do it all again! Continue reading
It has been a long, hard month for me on a personal level. Throughout September I was working two, pretty much full-time, jobs which meant that I had no time whatsoever for anything blog related. In fact I am struggling to think of a single game I played in September – it was bad.
I want to thank MrJohnSherry for holding the fort in my lengthy absence and ensuring that there was something new for you guys to read each and every week! I also want to thank you guys as well, even though there was a quarter of our usual output our numbers for the month were still healthy and while I feel that I’ve let you all down; you certainly haven’t let me down.
I am back now though and that means you can look forward to there being more content this month and for the rest of the year. It’s October now and we will be beginning our annual celebration of Hallowe’en with Frightfest 2016! That begins with one post a week then four posts in the final fortnight – I do have some good stuff planned so please check it out!
On topic though, we are here today to get some links to awesome content! Luckily I have those very links. As always click on the titles that sound good to you and support the writer, again, if you have any links yourself; feel free to link them in the comments! Continue reading
In case you live under a rock, a cave on Mars or under a rock IN a cave on Mars – you have missed a pretty big press conference; the Sony meeting. Usually this goes by relatively un-noticed by the general gaming public because, to be honest, nothing really happens for us.
This year is different though, rumours of iterative PS4 (referred to those “in the know” as the NEO or PS$K) had been doing the rounds since last year (remember this post?), on top of the massive leak of the new PS4 Slim model doing the rounds on the socials. Interest was high based on TWO new consoles – and as it transpired this interest was well warranted.
Why is that you ask? Well dear reader, I’m here to keep you from trawling the internet for the details of these new consoles as well as saving you the pain of sitting through lengthy tech talk (that was boring as shit) – here’s what went down at the Sony meeting. Continue reading
When I was a child I was a voracious reader, I would read anything, anywhere and at any time. The thing is though, when you read so much, you consume a lot of books and eventually you run out of things to read – especially if you are a fan of a series.
I loved the ‘Goosebumps’ series and read them all over a fortnight – so when my mum presented me with a ‘Choose you own adventure’ Goosebumps book; I was all over it. It was literally many books in one and it was different every time.
Why the storytime?
Well ‘A Land Fit For Heroes’ (ALFFH) is the video game equivalent of a choose your own adventure (CYOA) book. It goes for broke in its conceit and as a result it’s literally a (barely) visual novel – as I’ve said before; when a game goes for narrative over gameplay then it lives and dies by the quality of its story.
In 2014 I wrote a post that outlined a few big gaming Youtube Channels you should be watching; since then though a few (opengriefing) have become very inactive and one (DLCentral) has closed down. RIP. (We love you Matt and Nate – check them out here though)
So the time has come for us to update this list. Once again all these channels are my own personal choices (MrJohnSherry will disagree with some of my choices) but they still carry the MrLuvvaLuvva seal of approval® and you are still guaranteed a damn good time*
I will be doing another post on much smaller channels you should be paying attention too – before they become the next big thing on Youtube!
So why not stop being a reader (just for a few minutes though) and become a watcher; a watcher of gamers, a watcher of gamers on Youtube… Continue reading
August is nearly gone which means that September is about to begin – and with September comes…
…the Christmas games rush! Colour me excited though, new games are coming and it’s not a moment too soon; I haven’t bought one since ‘The Division’ so i’m well overdue! On top of that the PSVR is getting so close I can almost taste it (prepare yourselves for an avalanche of VR articles) – as well as our annual “Frightfest” celebrations – it’s almost too much.
Getting back to the present though I have assembled a crack selection of posts for your enjoyment. As always make sure you support these fine writers with a click of their links and if you have a good post you want to share with us, then please link it in the comments below! Continue reading
So Gamescom 2016 is underway and the information is slowly seeping out into the wild – some of the releases have been pretty awesome as well!
“Which ones Luvva?” I hear you scream – well slow down there partner; if I told you here (before the read more) then what will you read today?
I have been super impressed with much of what I have seen from Gamescom, there is a lot of good stuff coming our way; regardless of platform that you play on! So impressed in fact that I have had to edit this post down because there was just too much video causing the page to load way too slowly.
What follows then is the five games I am most looking forward to playing from Gamescom. Continue reading
Another week is gone, and I’m still without a logo for this feature! I really should designate some time to that this week (unlikely to happen). Sure, it’ll be done one day! I’m also attempting to repair my chair too, it keeps lowering the seat height at random (I may take pictures and create a ‘how to’ post on that!)
On topic though, I have been reading a lot of stuff this week, and I do have a crop of great posts – and I have assembled them here for your convenience! Be sure to support each of these great blogs and as always, link a good post you know of in the comments! Continue reading
First and foremost I want to extend and heartfelt thank you to Vahrkalla for nominating me for this award.

It genuinely means a lot to me that people not only read my gaming drivel, but enjoy it too! Please check out Vahrkalla’s blog if you haven’t already (he is a regular fixture in my Luv-In posts) because it will make you laugh, think and appreciate all things gaming! It’s just a great blog!
