Peter Moore has spent the past 18 years in the games industry and has overseen some monumental moments in the industry! From launching the Dreamcast and making Xbox Live an industry leader, to wrestling Grand Theft Auto exclusivity from PlayStation.
There is not much this man hasn’t seen or done in the industry.
And today was his last day Continue reading
EA today announced that Battlefront 2 will have its debut trailer during Star Wars celebration.
In an announcement on their official site EA confirmed;
Commence primary ignition – the first trailer for Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II is imminent. On April 15 at 2:30PM ET/11:30AM PT at Star Wars Celebration, we’ll be presenting during the “The Galaxywide Premiere of Star Wars Battlefront II” panel. Not able to attend in person? You’ll still be able to watch online. Join the award-winning developers from DICE, Criterion and Motive as they offer a glimpse at the game and debut the first trailer.
Rumour has it that the game will include locations, characters, vehicles and weapons from the new trilogy as well as the original. I’m hoping that they confirm that as well as showing off the campaign (made by motive), space dog fights and maybe a VR mode.
Liverpool Football Club tonight announced that Peter Moore will leave his position at EA to become their new CEO.
Fenway Sports Group released a statement on the clubs official website and said the following;
Liverpool Football Club has named Peter Moore as its new chief executive officer.
The appointment completes a 10-month transition plan by FSG and finalises the senior management structure at the club.
This is surely the dream job for the Liverpool born businessman who is a lifelong Liverpool fan. And with the club previously stating they were looking for a more “business minded CEO to replace Ian Ayre” he appears to be an ideal fit for the club.
Peter Moore had previously been involved in the video games industry including being COO at SEGA, Head of Xbox Division at Microsoft (with his famous Halon2 and GTA IV tattoos) and, of course, his current position of Chief Competition Officer at EA.
This appointment also sees several other moves within the club’s management.
Peter will take up his new position in July 2017.
Star Wars Battlefront is one of the best supported games this generation. It has received 4 DLC packs that have seen an upward trend in quality – from classic characters, weapons and locations to the harsh desert world of Jakku and even the surface of Scarif.
They have saved the best piece of DLC to last though, with X-Wing VR Mission which is truly jaw dropping. More than this, and I say this without hyperbole, it is one of the best gaming experiences of my life. Continue reading
A couple of days ago the community manager of EA (Daniel Lingen) sent out a tweet on his personal account that made the internet lose its mind!
It was just a hashtag and nothing else…
Does this mean that Skate 4 is coming?
Has it just been announced?
Hopefully we’ll find out in the very near future!
Of course the hardcore fans of the series who have bombarded EA with requests of the game at every opportunity got very excited. The teaser tweet was retweeted 10,000 times and got 20,000 likes that show EA that appetite is there for a new skate game!
As long as it is better than THPS5; I’ll be happy!
It’s mid-September again which can only mean one thing if you are a football fan. Dilemma time! Do you stick with the domination that has been FIFA for the last 5-6 years or has the King got his kit back? Continue reading
One of my favourite games of last generation is finally getting a sequel. When EA unveiled the teaser trailer for ‘Mirrors Edge Catalyst’ last E3 I became an excited quivering mess and I’m not embarrassed about who knows that! At all.
When they announced that there would be a closed BETA for it though, I instantly signed up for it and hoped to get selected. Last week was quite unpleasant for me, the BETA began and I had received no email. I feared the worst and was hugely disappointed – especially in the wake of the delay announcement – how was I going to wait until June?
Slowly but surely I came to terms with my snub and got on with my life….
….then, on the Saturday, my code arrived in my inbox. I was elated – question is though is the game worth (free) running to, or should you (free) run away from it? Continue reading
