Crash Bandicoot is a game that I have no nostalgia for; I played the games as a kid, mostly on demo discs, but I never really liked it; it looked good, but it was uninspired. Besides I was busy playing Syphon Filter and Resident Evil to really give a game like Crash Bandicoot any time of day.
The only game in the series that I have any fond memories of is Warped (aside from CTR); and the love for that game is so real that it formed the only reason why I, not only, purchased the N.Sane Trilogy but preordered it!
Once the game arrived on my doormat I decided to play through all the games in order and have a bloody good time doing it…
Last year we really pulled it out of the bag – despite it being one of our worst years for new content we somehow had our best year ever for views! Whilst this is awesome news views just aren’t enough for me, a few years ago I wrote a piece about how important the community is to me (and these pages) and merely coasting by with the minimal amount of posts simply isn’t good enough for me or you!
flash from the past…right?

Last year we saw the release of the NES mini; a plug and play console that contained 30 games that were perfectly emulated and had that Nintendo ‘magic’; that je ne c’est quoi that make people lose their minds and “have” to own it.
What happened will go down in legend, like the Buzz Lightyear farce of ’93, Nintendo completely underestimated demand and the thing sold out as it touched down on shop floors leading to extreme stock shortages. It caused out-roar on the internet as people struggled to secure their console and those who were interested in it (including me) could never hope to acquire one without giving in the outrageous prices scalpers were asking. Here it is folks, my game picks from E3 2017! Prepare to be excited and prepare to be disappointed because I know for a fact there’ll be people in both camps!

This list is based entirely off my own personal taste; so, if you want to flame them, please do it in the comments or @me on twitter! I will try to better justify my choices if you can give me a succinct reason why you disagree with them being on my list!
Let the fun begin. Continue reading
Like everyone who reads these pages ; I’ve been a gamer for a very long time – I remember losing entire afternoons to Pac-Man on my 2600, I lost weeks to Streets of Rage, then I lost months to Pokemon Blue, I still lose hours playing on my PS4. Gaming has been a constant in my life, games have always been there. Continue reading
In case you missed it; the Nintendo Switch was released last week, and amid all the pictures of excited gamers with their wares, the unboxing videos and of course the gameplay footage of Zelda (which is seemingly the only game people bought for the system) there was an undercurrent of people who were less than happy with their purchase. The best thing about reviewing games is that sometimes you get given a game that you’ve never heard of, in a genre you don’t particularly enjoy, and it turns out to be a damned good experience.
*Spoiler Alert* Demetrios is one such game. Continue reading
