The State of the Blog

Last year we really pulled it out of the bag – despite it being one of our worst years for new content we somehow had our best year ever for views! Whilst this is awesome news views just aren’t enough for me, a few years ago I wrote a piece about how important the community is to me (and these pages) and merely coasting by with the minimal amount of posts simply isn’t good enough for me or you!

My Favourite Runs of AGDQ 2018: Part 2

Even though I am always gutted when another GDQ comes to a close there is a silver lining to this cloud; it means that I can go onto YouTube and see the runs that I missed out on because of life commitments/work/sleep. Whilst it’s not quite the same as watching live; it is still absolutely brilliant viewing – speedruns make amazing viewing! Continue reading

Streamer Full Combos Through The Fire and the Flames, blindfolded…

Yes you read that headline right! A Twitch streamer called RandyLadyMan (terrible name) got a full combo on Through the Fire and the Flames by Dragonforce from GH3 (although he was playing Frets on Fire).

To my knowledge this is a world first! It is also a ridiculous thing to achieve and anyone who ever played Guitar Hero will testify to the amount of skill and muscle memory needed to even dream of doing this.

RandyLadyMan has worked his way through the most difficult song in the game (some would say in the genre) using nothing but his memory and audio cues – I couldn’t even get halfway through this song during my GH/RB obsession stage!

I don’t know what to say except…Fair play RandyLadyMan!

Unbelievable tekkers!

Here’s the video of this unreal triumphe of the human spirit! Continue reading

Backlog Blitz December 2017 & Final Roundup

BacklogGames Bought: Tekken 7

Games Completed: Tekken 7 (Paul and Hwoarang Story) and Watch_Dogs 2.

Final Year Score: -19

Completion count: 25

Well that is that, 2017 has come and gone and so too has my Backlog Blitz – whilst it was tough going in some months, I think that I have been fallen well short of completing 52 games in one calendar year – I have certainly completed more games in 2017 than I have in a very long time. So, in a sense 2017 was successful year. Continue reading

PlayStation Plus VS Games with Gold 2017

psplusEvery year war is waged between Sony and Microsoft fanboys up and down social media and the across the globe – they use absolutely everything they can in order to get the upper hand on their rivals (and their console of choice). In recent years however, this war has been getting decidedly one-sided when it comes to console exclusive games; which has meant that Xbox fanboys have had to resort to looking upon the battlefield of the subscription service – Games with Gold vs PS Plus has become a minefield of the fanboy and it is a dangerous place to be!
