The internet thrives on the creation of myths and the spreading of misinformation parading as facts. In such an enlightened age, where information is available on tap 24 hours a day 7 days a week it is incredible to think that many take what they see on the internet at face value and blindly believe it without doing research.
Myths thrive in the internet age because it preys on our assumption that reliable information is easy to find on the internet – while it is true that reliable information is available in abundance, it rarely seeks you out.
Fenway Sports Group released a statement on the clubs official website and said the following;
Liverpool Football Club has named Peter Moore as its new chief executive officer.
The appointment completes a 10-month transition plan by FSG and finalises the senior management structure at the club.
This is surely the dream job for the Liverpool born businessman who is a lifelong Liverpool fan. And with the club previously stating they were looking for a more “business minded CEO to replace Ian Ayre” he appears to be an ideal fit for the club.
Peter Moore had previously been involved in the video games industry including being COO at SEGA, Head of Xbox Division at Microsoft (with his famous Halon2 and GTA IV tattoos) and, of course, his current position of Chief Competition Officer at EA.
This appointment also sees several other moves within the club’s management.
Peter will take up his new position in July 2017.
Subtitled ‘Shadow of War’ it continues the revenge story of Talion and the redemption of the wraith bound to him, elf Lord Celebrimbor.
The games announcement trailer focuses on the story and highlights some of the changes that will be introduced.
In their press release, Monolith outlined the following;
In Middle-earth: Shadow of War, players wield a new Ring of Power and confront the deadliest of enemies, including Sauron and his Nazgul, in a monumental battle for Middle-earth.
The open-world RPG is brought to life through the expansion of the award-winning Nemesis System. The robust personalization from the first game is now applied to the entire world where the environments and characters are all shaped by player actions and decisions, creating a personal world unique to every gameplay experience.
It sounds amazing and the trailer is suitably epic; unfortunately it contains no gameplay footage. The trailer does say that there is a gameplay preview coming March 8th.
Middle Earth: Shadow of War will be available to buy on August 22nd.
…For Honor, but mostly For Myself.
I had to wait a few days before I got my hands on my much anticipated title so far this year “For Honor” – damn you real life commitments! However, that is all in the past now and I have spent the best part of this week with a lot of my time committed to it. So, how does it match my expectations? Continue reading
Last year we had SEGA tell us that they were investigating the possibility of a Shenmue Remaster. Then, earlier this year we had SEGA register a website for the title.
Star Wars Battlefront is one of the best supported games this generation. It has received 4 DLC packs that have seen an upward trend in quality – from classic characters, weapons and locations to the harsh desert world of Jakku and even the surface of Scarif.
They have saved the best piece of DLC to last though, with X-Wing VR Mission which is truly jaw dropping. More than this, and I say this without hyperbole, it is one of the best gaming experiences of my life. Continue reading

When a new technology lands; it is incredibly important for it to be bundled with a game that highlights what is unique about it and how it will shape the world for the foreseeable future. The Nintendo Gameboy was bundled with Tetris and it cemented its place on the market; the Wii launched with Wii Sports and went on to be the second biggest selling console of all time and now we have the PSVR which launched with…
