What Do You About A Problem Like Backlog

I know that MrJohnSherry is currently chronicling his adventures through his backlog, but I too am attempting to work my way through my own and it is proving to be troublesome. Throughout January I have been taking Sony up on some of their smashing Winter sale deals and it is proving to be a killer decision.

Before I start on my issues though I want to let you all in on the size of the problem that lies before me; and I’m only going to talk about my Playstation Consoles. The games in my backlog are:

  1. Murusaki Baby
  2. Freedom Wars
  3. Persona 4 Golden
  4. Tembo the Badass Elephant
  5. Resident Evil 0 HD
  6. Uncharted 2 and 3 HD
  7. Flower
  8. Fl0w
  9. Journey
  10. Assassins Creed Unity
  11. Transformers Devastation
  12. Alien Isolation – Challenge Rooms DLC
  13. Rock Band 4
  14. Valiant Hearts

That list is truly frightening, there are some games on this list that are 20-40 hours long and even some that are considerably longer! I want to have this backlog clear by the

The driving force!

time that ‘The Division’ gets released; but it’s gotten to the point were I power up the console and cannot decide on what game to play!

The task at hand is beginning to look like a mountain!

What can I do about this? Continue reading

Olli Olli 2 – Welcome to Olliwood Review

Two years ago I purchased a Playstation VITA and one of the first games I fell in love with on the system came from a little known developer called Olli Olli. It was an incredibly simple concept a high score based, side-scrolling skateboarding game with sublime animation,  tight nuanced controls and an addictive core.

Olli Olli was one of my favourite games of 2014 and narrowly missed out on my GOTY that year! It will surprise no-one to learn that when its sequel was released in January last year for free on PS Plus I was first in line to download my copy.

It should also be no surprise that it was one of my favourite games of last year and it narrowly missed out on being on my GOTY list! Continue reading

MrLuvva’s Luv-In #34

To kick things off, let me apologise for the lack of luv last week (both with a luv-in and post count)! I have started a new job and time is even more stretched than usual; but I have gotten more organised with my posts and that problem should not raise it’s ugly head anymore (inb4 it does).

This week though, in my downtime I have still been reading a lot of your stuff and here are my picks for the best of the week. As always please click each link and support each of these amazing bloggers and give them the support they deserve. Continue reading

The Blog in 2016

So far 2016 has been pretty eventful! We’ve named our games of the year (here and here), games have been delayed (seriously, before I could even do my “games that will miss 2016” post?! Cheers developers!) and MrJohnSherry has announced his gaming New Years Resolution. Sherry and I thought it was a perfect time to create a short post and update you all on how this little old blog will develop throughout its second full year of existing.

MrLuvva’s Game Of The Year 2015

Well now that Christmas is over, it’s time to reflect on the year that has come to an end. 2015 was  funny year for games – it was nowhere near a bad year; but neither was it a vintage one. In the end there were a number of really good games and not many great ones.

That alone made this GOTY extremely difficult for me, filtering those good games and ensuring that I picked the objectively great ones! In the end I am incredibly happy with my choices and I think that one of them will spark a debate.

Before we begin I will say that the rules for GOTY are:

1) I must have played the game.

2) Must have been released (in its entirety) between 01/01/14-31/12/14.

3) Cannot be a straight HD remake

Anyway, we have a game to crown #GOTY, so let’s get going! Continue reading
