Been a busy week at LuvvaLuvva Towers, but we made it! Finally got to the bottom of our video technical hiccups and the uploading of posts was regular! We are nailing this blogging business. Here’s what you missed if you haven’t signed up to follow the blog (if you haven’t done that, click the box on the right).
This month on PS Plus Curve Studios released their latest game upon an unsuspecting public. It is fair to say that I have never played a game quite like ‘Proteus’ before. Although can a game with no objective, narrative or character really be a good game?
Ah the good old fashioned hype-train. It’s been around for decades y’know. Maybe even longer (alas there are no cave drawings of hype; or maybe we’re just misinterpreting them and they are all ancient adverts). We all love it. We all buy into it. When we don’t engage with it we are disappointed; but is hype slowly killing the games industry?
Its been a slow week at LuvvaLuvva towers due to hardware malfunction and other technical difficulties, but as always we will collate everything we’ve done this week on this one handy page. You’re welcome.
One of the most exciting things to come out of Gamescom this year was the influx of survival horror games; news of the Resident Evil Re-remake was only the beginning, we also got Alien Isolation, Alone in the dark reboot and Silent Hills. My question for developers though is can this genre really enjoy the mainstream success it enjoyed in the late ’90s/early 2000s?
Well Gamescom was quite the show wasn’t it? Undoubtedly the biggest controversy was the reveal that Rise of the Tomb Raider is a timed-Xbox exclusive. The internet exploded into a fan-boy rage with people shouting “BOYCOTT” at the top of their lungs (from atop their soapboxes). I’ll admit i was angry with the reveal, but the news that followed softened the blow, i’ll play it on my 360 (cross generation games in 2015? maybe i was right with this blog post). It got me wondering though…this cannot be the first time this has happened…and I was right.
So buckle yourself in as we look through the history of third-party exclusives; some of these may shock you…some won’t.
We’ve had a pretty busy week, some time away from the Towers, Gamescom and Youtube channel to keep full of delicious content to keep you ravenous fans satisfied! We never tire of keeping you guys happy!
Anyway it’s Sunday and Sundays are boring. Why not read posts and watch videos?
Here’s links to everything we’ve done this week; for your enjoyment…
